The azure-robed Latona: ever mild:
Gracious to man and to immortal gods:
Mild from the first beginning of the world:
Gentlest of all within th’ Olympian courts.

Whom Perses to his spacious palace led,
That he might call her spouse: and [190]she conceived
With Hecaté. Her o’er all others Jove
Hath honour’d, and endow’d with splendid gifts:
