LK 20:45-47, 13:34-35

45 And in the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,

46 "Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and love

greetings in the marketplaces and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, 47 who devour widows' houses and for a

pretense make long prayers. They will receive greater condemnation."

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! 35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate. And I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'"

91.10 The Widow’s Coin

MK 12:41-44

41 And Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the

multitude putting money into the treasury. Many people who were rich put in large sums. 42 And a poor widow came, and put in two copper coins, which make a penny. 43 And he called his disciples to him, and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all
those who are contributing to the treasury. 44 For they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in everything-all she had to live on."
