℞.	New wax,	20 ℔.
	Venice turpentine, gum elemi, a.a.	2 ℔.
	Powdered florence iris,	4 ℔.
	Styrax, calamite, benzoin, a.a.	6 ℥.
	Myrrh, aloes, a.a.	3 ℥.
	Balsam of Peru, oil of absynth,	q. s.

Melt the wax and the gum, add the balsam, and then the powdered aromatics for use.

2.—Another.

℞.	New wax,	12 ℔.
	Common resin,	2 ℔.
	Venice turpentine,	1 ℔.
	Gum elemi,	4 ℥.

3.—Another.

℞.	White wax,	6 ℔.
	Oil of nutmegs, distilled oil of lavender, citron bark, oranges, a.a.	2 ℥.

The following are some formulæ of liniment, or fluid balsam, proper to rub the corpse both internally and externally.

1.—Liniment.

Dissolve two ounces of true balsam into two pints of spirit of wine.
