Prepositions with the locative.
O, about, Mluvíme o knize. We speak about the book.
Po, after, following. Po bratrovi přišla sestra. After the brother came the sister. After dinner. Po obědě.
Při, at, by, Při hostině. At the banquet.
V, ve, in, at, V městě, in the city.
Some prepositions are followed by two or even three cases.
Mezi, between, among; nad, above; pod, under, below; před, before are followed by the objective when they denote a direction of motion, in answer to kam? Where to?
When they denote, position, location in answer to kde? Where at?, they are followed by the instrumental.
Jdu mezi lidi (kam). I go among the people. Mezi lidmi (kde?) Among the people.
