By order, have ascertained the number of inhabitants of Tai-ping-Shan.
There are upwards of 5,300 men.
The number that smoke opium because they like it are upwards of 1,200.
The number that smoke opium are upwards of 600.
The number that died for cause of opium-smoking very few.
