First Letter.—Carta primera.

New York, March 15, 1849.

Mr. Anselmo Bravo,

Sir: Having established in this city a mercantile house under my own name, I beg leave to offer you my services, particularly as a commission merchant. (Or any other kind of business.)

A sufficient capital, a respectable credit, and the requisite knowledge of business, enable me to serve my friends in the most satisfactory manner; and I am happy to add that Mr. Cándido Delgado, of your city, merchant, has permitted me to refer to him for any information on the subject.

I have the honor to be, with the utmost respect,

Your most ob’t servant,
Eligio Fuente.
