From whose free grace if we were hurled,
Body and soul were ruined quite.
5. Fill with Thy Spirit every sense,
That God’s divine and gracious love
May drive Satanic temptings hence,
And blight their falsehoods from above.
6. That in the acts of common toil
Which life demands from us each day,
We may, without a stain or soil,
Live in Thy holy laws alway.
