Mr. Griffin. Had you known Ralph Paul before then?
Mrs. Helmick. No.
Mr. Griffin. How did you happen to get your job there?
Mrs. Helmick. He called me on the telephone.
Mr. Griffin. How did he happen to get your name?
Mrs. Helmick. I went down there after I quit another job at Pal’s Drive-In in Arlington, I went down there and asked about a job, and he called me about 3 days later.
Mr. Griffin. Had he made any advances toward you?
Mrs. Helmick. No.
Mr. Griffin. You had never had anything but a business relationship with him?
Mrs. Helmick. That is all. I must have not got too well acquainted with him. I didn’t talk to him because I didn’t understand him. He didn’t talk like you. He was Jew or something and I couldn’t understand him, so I just didn’t talk to him.
