This was prohibited by the Lord Chamberlain on March 7, 1873, on account of its political allusions, three of the principal characters having been “made up” to represent Messrs. W. E. Gladstone, R. Lowe and Ayrton; with certain alterations and omissions, the burlesque was again performed, but it had lost its savour. It was printed by J. W. Last & Co., Drury Lane.
