4. Verbs in eter and eler double the t or l when it comes before e, es, ent, and the erai, erais of the future and conditional, as:

5. The following verbs, although ending in eter and eler, deviate from the foregoing, and make, by means of the grave accent, the following changes, as: acheter, etc.

J'achète, I buy. Je pèle, I peel. |
Il gèlera, it will freeze. Je harcèle, I tease. |
Of the same order are the following ending in:

ecer, écer, ébrer, écher, éder, |
emer, égler, égner, égrer, éguer, |
ener, éler, émer, éner, équer, |
ever, érer, éter, étrer. |
Be it understood that those with an é change this also into è.
