Approximate Size: 25½ x 31½ inches
With White and No. 7 needles, cast on 96 sts and work in Garter st (K each row) until rug measures 30 inches from beg, bind off.
EDGE: Attach yarn in right corner at top, working across top, work 3 s c in same space, * ch 1, skip next st, s c in next st, repeat from * across top to next corner, 3 s c in corner, working down side of rug, * ch 1, skip 1 ridge, s c in next ridge, repeat from last * across side, 3 s c in corner, then repeat from 1st * across remaining 2 sides ending to correspond, join. 2nd ROUND: Ch 1, 3 s c in center st at corner, * ch 1, skip next s c, s c in next ch 1 space, repeat from * all around, working 3 s c in each corner st, join, cut yarn.
FINISHING: Block to measurements. Make 4 large and 4 small Watermelon flowers same as seat cover. Make 3 large and 3 small Orange flowers. Make 6 long stems and 8 short stems. Make 32 leaves. Arrange flowers, stems and leaves as illustrated and sew in position.
