Plain Seed Cake.
- Ingredients—10 oz. of flour.
- 3 oz. of butter or clarified dripping.
- 1 teaspoonful of caraway seeds.
- 3 oz. of castor sugar.
- 2 teaspoonfuls of baking powder.
- 1 egg.
- ¾ gill of milk.
- ½ saltspoonful of salt.
Method.—Rub the fat well into the flour.
Add all the other dry ingredients.
Mix with the egg and milk, well beaten.
Bake in a well-greased cake-tin for about an hour.
