SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
Heath, with bearded tips within the blossoms, which are cylindrically club-shaped, of a scarlet colour, and in whorls. Leaves nearly by sixes, bristle-shaped, and attenuated into capillary footstalks.
DESCRIPTION.
Stem shrubby, two feet high, with the branches and branchlets erect, and often alternate.
Leaves chiefly in fives or sixes, erect, bristle-shaped, attenuated downwards into capillary footstalks.
Flowers grow at the tops of the branches in whorls straight out. Footstalks short, furnished with three lance-shaped floral leaves.
