Cast on 71 sts. 1st ROW: K 3, P 1, K 3, P 1, K 1, * in next st K 1, P 1, K 1 (3 sts in 1 st), P 3 tog, repeat from * to within last 10 sts, in next st K 1, P 1, K 1; then K 1, P 1, K 3, P 1, K 3. 2nd ROW: P 3, K 1, P 3, K 1, P 57, K 1, P 3, K 1, P 3. 3rd ROW: K 3, P 1, K 3, P 1, K 1, * P 3 tog, in next st K 1, P 1, K 1, repeat from * to within last 12 sts, P 3 tog, K 1, P 1, K 3, P 1, K 3. 4th ROW: P 3, K 1, P 3, K 1, P 55, K 1, P 3, K 1, P 3. Repeat these 4 rows for pattern until section measures 18 inches. Bind off.
FINISHING: Block section. Cut lining ½ inch larger than knitted section. Sew 3 sides. Fill with kapok or shredded foam rubber. Sew opening closed. Sew knitted section in position.
