One Egg Cake
| 1 cup butter 1½ cups sugar 3 cups flour 1 cup sweet milk 1 egg 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup chopped raisins |
Devil's Food
| 2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs 3 cups flour ½ cup boiling water ½ cup sour cream ½ cup butter ½ cup grated chocolate 1½ teaspoons soda |
Dissolve soda in boiling water and pour over chocolate and let cool. Beat butter and sugar to a cream, add the eggs and other things. Bake in layers.
