Of the Indeclinable Particles or Immutable parts of speech.

The immutable Particles or Indeclinable parts of speech haue heretofore of most Gramarians beene reduced into foure chiefe and seuerall squadrons, of them called, Aduerbs, Coniunctions, Prepositions and Interiections, and euery one of them subdiuided into other heads (namely the Aduerbs, as being the maine battallion of them all) according to the import, signification or effect of them (a thing much to be respected both by the speaker or writer.) Now for as much as these Particles hauing no affinity or dependancy or (as I may say) deriuation of the Latine tongue, are many in number, often and much in vse, and most-most necessary, as well for the true vnderstanding, as for the right speaking of the Italian tongue, I haue here for your Maiesties more ready vse and seruice made a collection of most of them (for the number of them is infinite) and Alphabetically set them downe vnder their seuerall heads, which as yet I neuer saw done by any. And first of Aduerbes or phrases and locutions that are Aduerbially vsed, which are sometimes

Aduerbes locall of Place or of motion.

Aduerbes of time, of vicissitude, or Succession.

Aduerbs of quality, degree, similitude or order.

And infinite others which a man may frame at his pleasure and incidently to his purpose, by putting, Ménte, vnto any Adiectiue: or else by placing any Nowne of profession after, Alla, or after, Da, as you may perceiue in my Rules and observations among Nownes, as also by diuers examples among these few aboue mentioned.
